DEFJAM'S NEW GM NAMED "GABRIELLE PELUSO"

DEF JAM UPS PELUSO: Gabrielle Peluso has been named GM for Def Jam Recordings by Island Def Jam Music Group President/COO Steve Bartels. She will be responsible for the label’s day-to-day activities, scheduling and organization on behalf of its artists, reporting to Bartels. Peluso served as SVP Video Promotion for IDJMG since 2006. Prior to that, she was VP Video Promotions since 2004, following a stint as Director of the department. She began her music career in 1996, as assistant to the former president of Def Jam, moving to the publicity department, where she served as Director until 2000. "Def Jam is undeniably the most important brand in urban music," said Peluso. "The goal for this label has always has been to uphold the culture of hip-hop music by breaking new artists and supporting the vision of our superstars.
