Beyonce Knowles and Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) welcomed their first child, a baby girl, late Saturday night in New York. While the couple has yet to release an official statement regarding the usual weight and time of birth, sources say the baby already has a name -- it is not Tiana May Carter ! According reports early Sunday, the couple has decided on the name Ivy Blue Carter ! Update: There has been some confusion about the name. According to E!, the name is now Blue Ivy Carter. It is unclear, at this point, what the significance could be behind the name, although some say the IV stands for Beyonce's favorite number 4 (sans wedding (april 4),her birthday (september 4) and recent album (4)) while blue is reportedly Jay-Z's favorite color. The birth of Ivy Blue follows weeks of speculation surrounding Beyonce's pregnancy and the babies name. Just last week sources claimed the singer had checked in at another New York area hospital to give birth but that turned out to be false, just like the name a publication reported -- Tiana May Carter. As expected, news of Ivy Blue Carter's birth dominated social media Sunday, with the name Ivy Blue trending as well as "Congratulations Beyonce & Jay Z," Aunty Gaga, and Uncle Kanye on Twitter. The couple confirmed the pregnancy in August, just before the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
